FAQ

1. I paint 2 colours after each other and I´m getting colour/surface changes under the tape!?

• Do not use TGIC-free paint!
• Cure properly (use oven logger)!
• Test TO, TB!

2. The green tape doesn´t stick?

• Surface structure (casting etc.)?
• Dirty surface?
• Efficient sticking area?
• Old tape?
• Test TR or TB (thicker adhesive)!
• Try to press on the tape!

3. How big discs can you supply?

• 1x1 or bigger (but it´s not a handable format)
• With print approx. 320x480
• If nothing else is agreed - delivery on rolls

4. Can back side (liner) of a disc-set be slited?

• Yes

5. What is acceptable storing-time for tape?

• Approx. 6 months

6. I need special size of special discs with special printing!?

• No problem. Tooling is cheap
• We can also offer ERD for this purpose
• No min. quantities, but about 10.000 pcs to get a good price

7. Doesn´t paper/MDF/cork burn at 200 Celsius?

• No, but it is close to the limit

8. Does silicone shrink at higher temperatures?

• Yes, but less than 1%

9. How many times can a silicone plug be used?

• Depends on the treatment (scratching)
• Theoretically silicone rubber could be used a several hundred times at 200ºC
• Flakes are causing the biggest problems and limit normally the use

10. How many times can I use an EPDM plug in powder coating?

• A few times, then the material gets hard and brittle

11. How do I get rid of flakes?

• It´s difficult
• Washing + mechanical schratching/blewing

12. Can silicone rubber absorb liquids?

• Yes, petrolbased chemicals are hard for silicone rubber (TriChlorEthylen, Toulen etc)

13. Can silicone rubber cause silicone contamination?

• Normally not, but physical mistreatment of the rubber can cause (limited) problems
• Silicone oil rests are exhausted in postcuring process (always done)

14. Is it possible to glue silicone rubber to steel?

• Yes

15. DSM 10 (magnet sheet) falls off in the oven!?

• The temporary loss of magnet power is enough to make it fall off.
• Strong air flows
• Too small masking format
• Too small contact area

16. I want a rubber cloth that is 20mm thick!?

• Sandwich construction (8+12 mm)

17. Is it possible to watercut with several beams parallell?

• Yes, 4 beams if details are not too big (4 abrasive)
• The material can be "stacked", but then cutting quality is diminishing

18. In which sizes can Colour match panels (PP) be produced?

• Tooling is available for 30/40/50/60x100 mm (hole concentric on shortest side) and 100x30-infinity mm (hole concentric on 100 mm side)
• By watercutting almost every size can be done. Cutting quality will be a little bit rough, but logotype might be cut

19. We have been using the same conical plug for several years and with the last shipment we got plugs that broke!?

• Generally there are variations in hardness and tear strength that depends on both material and production
• Are the way of using the plug "on the border" of what the material can perform there will be problems at some point
• Has the way of using it changed (new staff or new paint for example)?
• What does the hole look like? Sharp edges (threads)?
• Are tools (cutting pliers) used to remove the plugs?
• Has any alternatives been tested (GTM etc)?

20. We´ve been testing GGM06, but the problem is that it´s hollow, which means that flakes are left inside after cleaning it?

• Is it economical to clean it?
• The price is 0,40 SEK/pcs and every working second cost approx. 0,07 SEK. What is the real cost for washing a plug like this?

21. I think that paint sticks less on pink plugs than on yellow ones!

• There shouldn´t be any differences
• Colour is added at small doses and doesn´t affect physical properties. Colour is there just to make the handling easier

22. Can you cut tubes with 45 degree angle?

• Yes

1. How much copper is there on a hook?

• Less than 1g/m wire (0,5-1 my thin layer)

2. Why is there copper on the wire?

• To get a clean wire. Copper is a last step lubricant by wire-drawing.
• Better earthing? No, not really, but some other advantages like less oxidation and better welding possibilites

3. Why a DV hook instead of a radius hook?

• It can be used more times with maintained earthing (contact)
• DV is a safer hook (higher load margin)
• Comparison of 100x2,0 hook DV vs R:
  - Same load capability before any stretching (approx 5,5kg)                                                            
  - Different maximum load before dropping product (26 and 10,5kg)

4. I have a product weighing 4 kg. Which wire dimension shall I use?

• Hook type?
• Security level?
• Dynamic loads?
• Cleaning/burning of hook?
• See recommendation table in the handbook!

5. I get too big hanging marks with a 3mm hook. What shall I do?

• Arrow, BHL or BH
• Spring wire/thinner diameter
• Hang at a covered/hidden spot
• Square wire
• If a product is hanging in two hooks - use a secondary load bar to avoid twist marks!

6. Your hooks can´t stand so many burn-offs as your competitors spring wire hooks!

• Is our price better?
• Our hooks are not meant to be burned-off
• True comparison
  - Hanging-mark size
  - Cleanliness
  - Handling, burning and washing (sorting)
  - Powder consumption
  - Capital cost
  - How many extra seconds can I handle the spring hook before it gets more expensive?

7. We have capacity problems, but we don´t want to invest money in expensive special jigs!?

• HQS
• HQL
• Use system 1000/1100/2000 in 2 or more "lines" (use depth) or use coupling plates.
• BHL systems & frames

8. We are getting our rail and conveyer full painted!?

• Earthing!!
• Deeper slot
• Check air flows in powder cabin

9. For how long can we use a hook?

• Depending on where hanging point is situated and the hook design
• Until resistance exceeds 1 Mohm (US safety recommendation)
• Use CGT II

10. Why H11B instead of H1B?

• Heavier (up to 5mm hooks)
• Can be cleaned with burn-off procedure

11. I have problems with dust falling down from my conveyer

• Clean the conveyer often and use the right oil
• Get a waste collector!
